Important Announcement

Unfortunately, due to the continued spread of the Coronavirus and concerns about international travel – including to/from some destinations in Europe – COBIS and The British School of Brussels have taken the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 COBIS Games. We regret that this event will not take place in March 2020 in Brussels as planned. We appreciate that this will be a disappointment for many of the students and teachers who have been training hard in the lead-up to this event, but the welfare of the students and our wider school communities is of the utmost importance. With further schools now unable to attend, The British School of Brussels and COBIS feel that postponing the event is the safest option for all involved.

We are hopeful that we will be able to identify a new date for this event in the following academic year, and will be in touch with all registered schools with more details about options for transferring registration to 20/21 if desired. We are also reviewing a fair and consistent reimbursement policy (which takes into account costs already incurred by the host school) for those schools that prefer to cancel their registration entirely. More details will be shared with schools over the coming weeks.

We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause your school, but hope that you will appreciate that this decision has been made in order to safeguard the wellbeing of the children, young people, staff and parents in our school communities.

COBIS would like to take this opportunity to express thanks to all of the schools and teachers that have been preparing students for this event, and also to The British School of Brussels who have done a tremendous job preparing for the COBIS Games. We are looking forward to a successful event in 2021.
