Inspiring Medical Students

On Saturday 7 March 2020, Doha College hosted their seventh annual Medical Review Schools Conference in partnership with COBIS. Invitations were extend to British schools around the world.

The Medical Review School Conference allowed aspiring medical students to present to industry experts on medical topics. The event was a fantastic opportunity for students who are considering a medical career to enhance their skills and boost their university applications.

Schools were invited to enter teams from Years 11-13 to prepare and deliver short presentations about recent developments in medicine.

Participating schools researched and delivered presentations on six set topics: Diseases and Disorders, Neuroscience and Psychiatry, Oral Health, Pharmacological Developments, Oncology and Technology in Medicine.

The morning session saw teams split into six break-out rooms, where teachers from participating schools ranked each team’s presentation. The four teams with the highest scores went forward to the afternoon session where they presented to an expert judging panel. The final judging panel comprised doctors and health professionals who assessed and challenged the finalists.

Well done to Doha College for another successful conference. We hope all teams enjoyed taking part!
