Over one fast‑paced weekend, teams will tackle prepared and unseen motions, sharpen their critical thinking, and compete for top honours - all online.

Event Overview
The Debate Mate x COBIS Virtual Debating Competition is a three‑day online event designed to challenge, inspire, and connect students aged 14+ (Years 9–12 or international equivalent). Hosted via Zoom Events and facilitated by Debate Mate Schools Ltd, the competition blends intellectual rigour with an exciting, supportive atmosphere.
Students will compete in international leagues, engaging with both prepared and unseen motions, before progressing (for top teams) to a knockout finals stage.
Students will:
- Debate against international peers
- Develop confidence, leadership, and persuasive communication
- Experience formal competitive debating - no prior experience required
