Composition Results
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our student composers in the COBIS Music Composition Competition, the online element of the annual COBIS Music Festival.
While the in‑person Music Festival was impacted by wider global circumstances, the composition competition proceeded as planned, ensuring that students’ work was recognised and celebrated on an international stage. This online format continues to play a vital role in enabling broad participation and showcasing excellence across the COBIS network
We congratulate all students who took part in the Composition Competition. Their dedication, creativity, and ambition exemplify the very best of music education and serve as an inspiration to the wider school community.
Our sincere thanks go to The British School of Bahrain for organising and masterminding the composition competition, and for their exceptional leadership in delivering a high‑quality international platform for young composers.

Results
The competition was open to students in Years 6–13, and they were required to submit one original composition, accompanied by a recording and supporting score or commentary, demonstrating both creative intent and musical understanding. Over 50 compositions were submitted across the 3 categories from 18 schools. Entries were assessed by experienced adjudicators against clear criteria, ensuring a rigorous and authentic compositional process.
The quality of submissions was exceptionally high. Compositions displayed a strong sense of structure, imaginative use of timbre and texture, and thoughtful development of musical ideas. Students explored a wide range of styles and techniques, confidently expressing their individual musical voices while applying advanced compositional skills.
