Changemakers Competition

This is an online competition has been designed and created by the COBIS Student Council for students in Years 1-13.

It is an opportunity for groups of students in COBIS schools and Applicant Schools to collaborate on projects that tackle some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their local areas. To enter this competition students will consider 'People; Communities; Environment' and submit video evidence of a project they have carried out and the impact it has had.

You will need to share a 5-minute video demonstrating the project that has been undertaken. The video should demonstrate:

• The aim of your project?
• Why you choose the project?
• What strategies you used to tackle the issue?
• What was the impact of your project?
• What lessons did you learn while undertaking the project?
• How you plan to continue/ develop this project in future?

The groups entered in each category should be made up of no more than 10 students. The entry categories are as follows:

• Category A: Key Stage 1-2
• Category B: Key Stage 3-5

Get your whole school involved and share this presentation at your school assembly!

Winners and runners-up in each category will receive:

• A personalised COBIS Certificate
• A feature on the COBIS website and social media
• A chance for your project to be shown at the COBIS Annual Conference 2026

Every participant will get a Certificate of Participation, so everyone leaves with something to celebrate!

The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, and entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• The aim of the project is clearly explained and set in the wider context, including reasons for choosing it
• Strategies used to address the problem are clearly explained and justified
• It is clear that students played an active role in tackling the issue and demonstrated collaboration and teamwork
• The impact of the project is clearly explained
• The lessons learned in undertaking the project are explained
• The video is presented in an interesting and professional way.
