COBIS Bright Beginnings Awards
Celebrating Our Youngest Learners!
We are delighted to launch the inaugural COBIS Bright Beginnings Awards to recognise and celebrate students in EYFS and Key Stage 1 who demonstrate the qualities, attitudes and behaviours that underpin lifelong learning and responsible global citizenship.
Inspired by the COBIS Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles, and kindly sponsored by TTS, these awards acknowledge young learners who show curiosity, kindness and caring for nature and the environment.
At COBIS, we believe that education is about more than academic achievement alone. The COBIS Bright Beginnings Awards recognise the early development of character, confidence and a love of learning that help children flourish both in school and throughout their lives.
Nominations will open in May 2027.

Who can be Nominated?
The awards are open to students aged 3-7 in:
- Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Year 1
- Year 2
All COBIS Member, Applicant and Provisional Schools are eligible to participate.
Nomination Categories
Students may be nominated for the following achievements:

Being curious and eager to learn

Showing kindness and friendship

Caring for nature and the environment
Awards
All nominated students will receive
- A digital certificate in recognition of their achievements.
- Recognition on the COBIS website
A list of award recipients will be published on our website in June 2027.
Why COBIS Bright Beginnings Awards?
The COBIS Bright Beginnings Awards recognise that the characteristics celebrated in older students begin to develop from the earliest years. By acknowledging these qualities in young learners, we celebrate the foundations of future achievement, leadership, service and global citizenship.
Through these awards, COBIS seeks to recognise children who are already demonstrating the values that strengthen our schools, enrich their communities and contribute to a better world.
How to Nominate Your Students
Nominations will open on Tuesday 4 May 2027 and close at midday (BST) on Monday 31 May 2027.
- Nominations must be submitted by school staff using the online form available on this page
- You will be asked to provide a short supporting statement (maximum 100 words) outlining how the student has demonstrated the qualities recognised by the Awards.
- Each school may nominate up to three students, one for each category
- Additional nominations will not be accepted
