From Ideas to Impact
The 2025-26 COBIS Student Council demonstrated the power of student-led innovation, transforming ideas into opportunities that had a lasting impact across the COBIS community. Their most significant achievement was the creation of the inaugural COBIS Changemakers Competition, which they developed from inception to completion, generating the original concept, shaping the competition format, promoting participation, and contributing to the judging process. Beyond Changemakers, Council members were involved in the pilot development of the Research Skills Competition before its introduction to the student engagement calendar, chose themes for the Poetry and Art Competitions, and successfully advocated for the return of the Debate Competition which has been included in the 2026-27 calendar (find out more here). Through their leadership, creativity and commitment, the Council not only amplified student voice but have also created meaningful opportunities for students across the global COBIS network to engage, collaborate and make a positive difference. The 2026-27 cohort are now keen to take up the baton and build upon these achievements. To find out more about the 2026-27 Changemakers competition click here.
