Student Leadership weekend 2025-26: Inspiring the next Generation of Leaders 

We were thrilled to welcome students from across the COBIS network to the Student Leadership Weekend, hosted by the British School of Bucharest from 14–16 November 2025.

Designed for students in Years 12 and 13, the weekend provided a dynamic and engaging opportunity to develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to lead within a school community and beyond.

A Transformative Leadership Experience

Over three immersive days, students participated in a structured programme combining accredited learning with interactive workshops and real-world leadership practice:

• Day 1: Completion of the Level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership
• Day 2: Collaborative leadership workshops
• Day 3: Public speaking development and presentation skills

Participants not only strengthened their leadership capabilities but also worked towards a recognised qualification awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Supporting Staff Development

Accompanying staff also benefited from professional development, with the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course, supporting student wellbeing in their schools.

Building Global Connections

The weekend fostered meaningful connections between students from COBIS member schools worldwide, encouraging collaboration, cultural exchange and the sharing of ideas, all essential qualities for future global leaders.
