A Global Showcase of Skill, Strategy and Teamwork

The COBIS x DAIGON Esports Competition brought together students from across the COBIS network for an exciting and highly competitive experience.

In the 2025–26 competition, an impressive 52 teams from 24 COBIS schools competed for the title, showcasing not only their gaming ability but also the wider skills developed through esports.

More Than Just a Game

The competition extended far beyond gameplay. Students competed in a structured, high-pressure environment that enabled them to develop:

  • Critical thinking
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Strategic decision-making
  • Resilience and adaptability
  • Leadership skills

These transferable skills supported both academic progress and future career readiness.

Finals Day Highlights

The competition culminated in an exciting Finals Day on 31 January 2026, where the strongest teams from earlier rounds came together to showcase their talent and determination.

Congratulations were extended to all participating teams, and especially to those who progressed to represent COBIS schools at the Student Esports World Championships.

Accessible and Inclusive Competition

Students competed across popular titles designed to suit a range of interests and age groups, including:

  • Minecraft: Capture the Flag (5 players per team)
  • Rocket League (3 players per team)

With flexible platform options and inclusive age brackets, the competition ensured broad participation across the COBIS community.

The Impact of Esports

Delivered in partnership with DAIGON Esports, the competition demonstrated the positive impact of esports in schools. By aligning with students’ interests, the event successfully:

  • Increased engagement in extracurricular activities
  • Supported wellbeing and confidence
  • Encouraged creativity and problem-solving
  • Fostered international collaboration

DAIGON Esports brought significant expertise to the programme, working with hundreds of international schools worldwide to deliver high-quality esports experiences.
