Unlocking the Benefits of Sustainability and Carbon Footprinting in Schools
A wider awareness of sustainability is vital for climate action. There is an opportunity for educational institutions to spearhead a new green learning agenda. A new way of educating and engaging children, youth, and adults in climate solutions—by unlocking the imagination of teachers and students to devise and implement climate action initiatives in their homes, schools, and communities. Incorporating topics of sustainability and climate change at younger levels should empower and inspire students rather than overwhelm or frighten them.
This session outlines the initiatives schools can put in place to effectively measure and report on their carbon emissions. It will explore the importance of gathering data, engaging staff and students and communicating successes to help others follow suit.
The webinar is presented by Jonathan Withey, Head of Business Development at Planet Mark and Lance Gerow, Sustainability and Outreach Officer at COBIS school, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar, Malaysia.
