The Science of Instructional Coaching
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) has conducted extensive research into what ‘the active ingredients of professional development’ are ‘that really make it work’ and have provided crystal clear guidance on what it takes to help teachers make meaningful improvements.
The EEF found that for Professional Development (PD) to be effective, it needs to achieve four broad aims, each of which is enabled by a number of active ingredients or ‘mechanisms’: build knowledge, motivate staff, develop teaching techniques and embed practice.
In this session we explore the science behind the mechanisms and how schools can meet all four aims of effective PD to rapidly improve teaching and learning.
This webinar is led by Josh Goodrich, CEO and Co-Founder of Steplab.
