Strategies for Effective Safeguarding Recordings and Monitoring
Effective information sharing and record-keeping are essential when safeguarding children in any education environment.
In this session independent trainer, Jon Trew from CPOMS, shares practical strategies and insights to help practitioners at international schools improve the recording and monitoring of safeguarding concerns.
The session covers key advice on how to exceed the standards required of British international settings by producing safeguarding recordings that are:
• Objective – Recording facts not opinions and being aware of the difference.
• Intuitive - Exploring and examining why they have concerns about a child.
• Attentive – Listening to the voice of the child, understanding what they say and giving them the space to disclose.
• Audience-Aware – Understanding who might read our recordings and ensuring they are suitable for purpose.
• Honest – Remaining open and transparent about mistakes and corrections.
