Preparing learners to thrive: helping students develop their voice

What does it really mean to prepare students for their future? Students tell us communication skills matter, but teachers see students’ fear of judgement as a barrier.

This webinar combines insights from Cambridge’s global research with a practical exploration of developing oracy and communication skills. We focus on listening, interpersonal skills and creating an environment where students feel confident to speak, listen and learn.

Expect simple, classroom-ready approaches and tools to support positive relationships, wellbeing and effective communication.

The learning objectives of the session are to:
• Understand what students and teachers say about future readiness, including communication skills.
• Explore how oracy supports wellbeing, confidence and positive relationships.
• Take away practical strategies to develop listening, empathy and student voice in the classroom.

This webinar was presented by colleagues from Cambridge Assessment International Education:
• Laura Kahwati – Education Futures Manager, International Education
• Charlotte Colucci – Head of Community & Advocacy, International Education
