How to Move & Learn - reducing sedentary time across the school day to improve pupil and teacher outcomes
Over 50% of children globally are inactive which is not only impacting on their physical health, but their mental health and school outcomes too. Schools are becoming increasingly important in addressing this issue, due to the largely sedentary nature of the school day, but also the messaging and culture they can create with children and their parents. Therefore, in this webinar, we explore why we have a movement and learning problem, and what school can do about this in a purposeful and appropriate way given the other pressures and priorities they face on a daily basis.
Attendees will have an overview of:
- What is physical activity and why is it so important to learning?
- How movement aids the learning process
- Why should we incorporate movement in the learning process?
- How to reduce sedentary time in both learning and play, and how this can support school improvement
This session is led by COBIS Supporting Associate, Digital Content Associates. It is presented by Ian Holmes, Co-Director Move & Learn and Moki Mentor.
