Council of International Schools
Schipholweg 113 2316XC
The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a membership community working collaboratively to shape the future of international education. We connect educators and professionals from schools and higher education institutions as they gather at CIS events, share leading practices and learn from each other as they engage in our services.
We deliver meaningful, high quality services that enable our members to learn and improve the quality of international education: International Accreditation, Career & Recruitment, Higher Education, and Research Services. With a focus on personalized support, we gather data and share our collective knowledge to validate or disprove assumptions, indicate trends, and demonstrate effective and innovative practices.
Our school Support Services include International Accreditation, a peer-based whole-school evaluation developed with our members to meet the evolving needs of schools. International Certification is a unique service that enhances and confirms a school community’s commitment to international and intercultural learning and the development of global citizens. Each member using our School Evaluation Services is supported by professional staff, experienced in international education to provide guidance and personalized support.
We support schools in hiring and retaining high-quality educators. Our members have access to CIS-Approved teachers and leadership candidates who have been fully-screened and meet our high standards, which includes criminal background checks. Schools can opt to manage their own hiring using our online recruiting systems or ask our professional recruitment team to manage the search, identify and recommend candidates.
Our entire membership community benefits from CIS professional learning opportunities focused on priorities we have identified through our global work with leading institutions: developing intercultural learning in students and educators, protecting child well-being, international career planning and development, preparing students for admission and transition to international universities.
