COBIS has been awarded certification from The Planet Mark, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

First year certification with The Planet Mark is based on commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in business operations by measuring and reducing carbon footprint and engaging stakeholders. This is COBIS' first year of business carbon footprint reporting and certification with The Planet Mark. Their total carbon footprint in the year ending August 2019 was 25.3 tCO2e and the relative carbon footprint was 1.84 tCO2e per employee. Their next step is to actively encourage and support their members to review and improve their business practices to become more sustainable in the long term.

The Planet Mark, in partnership with the Eden Project and Cool Earth, is a certification programme recognising commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability by supporting organisations to measure and reduce their carbon footprint.

Steve Malkin, CEO & Founder of The Planet Mark, commented: "COBIS joining The Planet Mark gives me great pleasure. With 500 members in over 80 countries, their capacity to influence and inform is enormous. By measuring and committing to reduce their carbon, they are walking the walk of environmental sustainability, and sending the right message to their students, teachers and stakeholders across the globe."
