As our Patron’s Accreditation and Compliance Scheme continues to grow, we are constantly reflecting on how we can provide the best possible service to our schools and support for our Lead Improvement Partners.

As a result, we will be conducting Lead Improvement Partner (LIP) review meetings in Years 1, 3 and 5 of the five-year review cycle, replacing the current system of annual reviews. This follows our consultation with members of our LIP team and discussions with some COBIS school heads and COBIS Board members.

The first review agenda, a year after the visit, will be drawn from the Priority Next Steps in our Revised Standards and other recommendations and will also include the extent to which the school has engaged with COBIS. These developmental areas will also form the basis of the three-year review discussion. In addition, we’ll be asking LIPs to talk prospectively about the next visit at the end of the cycle and advising schools about how best to prepare.

For schools who received a visit before the introduction of Priority Next Steps, LIPs will draw upon the original report and the next steps identified.

We believe that focusing on these meetings will be more purposeful and productive all-round, and we look forward to continuing to support those schools that have chosen this quality assurance route.
