COBIS Buddy Scheme
To help facilitate connectivity between colleagues within the COBIS network, and support you in your role, COBIS has an informal ‘buddy’ or peer support scheme for new Heads as well as senior and middle leaders. This scheme supports Heads, SLT and middle leaders whether they are new entirely, new to the international sector, or simply new to COBIS.

We appreciate that many 'New Heads’ and members of your Senior Leadership team are very experienced school leaders and management, but we would like to offer the chance to connect you with another member of the COBIS network.
This is not intended to create a formal coaching relationship, but to offer new colleagues in the network a sounding board with experience of the challenges and rewards of international school leadership.

I find it really helpful to have someone who is separate from school, and with so much experience, to discuss items with. He has given me some sound advice on establishing and developing a board of governors, HR in an international setting and looking after staff who are working away from home. We have also discussed the various challenges around working in an international setting, from recruitment to work permits. Often it has been as helpful to have someone to listen to the various bits as it is to get advice.Arabella Crook,Reigate Grammar School Vietnam
