COBIS School Leaders - Would you like to access a quality Leadership Mentoring and Support service?

In a highly confidential and professional supportive environment COBIS School Leaders can discuss with and learn from others with successful experience of similar professional challenges in the international school environment.

What areas are covered by the COBIS Leadership Mentoring and Support Service?

Trained and approved COBIS mentors provide a wealth of experience and expertise and offer a range of knowledge in a whole host of subjects, including (but not limited to):

  • delegation and distributed leadership

  • providing vision and motivation

  • financial management and accountability

  • whole school strategic planning and evaluation

  • effective working practices with your Board

  • relationships with the wider school community

  • assuming whole school responsibility

  • achieving a work / life balance

  • developing self-confidence and enhancing self-preception

  • effective staff performance management

Are COBIS Mentors Quality Assured?

Yes, trained and approved COBIS mentors:

  • Must have a successful track record of professional work in British International School leadership, with at least two years experience as Heads

  • Are either currently school leaders or have maintained current and relevant knowledge of international school leadership

  • Must offer total confidentiality

  • Must have completed a COBIS mentor training course

  • Require DBS clearance where appropriate

How does the COBIS Leadership Mentoring and Support Service Operate?

  • COBIS mentees register their interest with COBIS stating the focus of required professional mentoring and support

  • Mentees are matched with approved COBIS mentors who have completed COBIS training

  • Mentees and mentors agree the frequesncy, time scale, location, framework and focus of support

  • Costs are agreed, to reflect a recommended daily rate and other financial guidelines as set by COBIS

  • Mentors deliver this confidential service, working within an agreed COBIS memorandum of agreement

  • The process is monitored and evaluated by both parties and is quality assured by COBIS to ensure consistency and best practice
