Our Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles

Following an extensive consultation process, COBIS is pleased to share our new Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles.

Our Guiding Principles, which will guide how we operate and make decisions, are Inclusivity, Collaboration and Ambition.

Colin Bell, COBIS CEO, says of the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles:

The talented COBIS Executive Team, Board and I are delighted with our new Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles, as I truly believe they are reflective of who we are as an organisation, who we aim to serve and the future we want to create. These statements will be our collective ‘North Star’, and all strategic decisions will flow from this bedrock.

COBIS as an organisation is inclusive, ambitious and collaborative in nature, in everything we do, and we know that many in our network will be able to echo these sentiments and help us to deliver this Mission and Vision over the coming years.

Our new Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles mark the beginning of an exciting and energising new chapter of service and growth for COBIS, as we work together to reach and connect all British international school communities in order to support them in developing students who will have a positive impact on society.

These reflect our collective commitment to supporting and empowering all British international schools in their provision of high-quality education. They also set a clear direction for the future that COBIS will shape. As a membership body, we aim to be a unifying force in the sector, and we can’t do this alone.

Our Guiding Principles of Inclusivity, Collaboration and Ambition demonstrate this – we want to work together with all British international schools and partners to create a sector where all students are supported to shape a new, positive future. It's an ambitious project, but we’re optimistic that with the power of the COBIS network, we can all work together to bring this to life. We do this with the support of our much-valued Members, who shape this organisation with their diversity, energy and dedication to education.
