Description

The British School of Beijing (BSB) was founded in 2003 and is the oldest British style school in the city.
The school is part of the Nord Anglia family of British Style International schools. Nord Anglia is a leading provider of learning services in UK and of high quality British Style education around the world, with a network of eleven schools between Asia and Europe (www.nordanglia.com).

The school currently has two campuses. The Sanlitun campus is conveniently located in the heart of the Embassy district and offers high quality primary education. It’s cosy but purposeful and has gained this school a fantastic reputation as a family orientated campus. The Shunyi campus is brand new and is situated in the family friendly suburbs on the outskirts of Beijing. It is perfectly placed for the most popular expatriate friendly housing compounds and offers primary and secondary education.

Our curriculum follows the English National Curriculum, with adjustments made to reflect our international context. We have students from more than 50 countries studying in our school. All of our teachers are fully qualified, very experienced native English speakers.  In addition, and uniquely in Beijing, our teacher assistants are also native English speakers drawn from the UK. Our class sizes are small with a maximum of 20 students per class (15 only in our Pre-Nursery and Nursery classes) allowing for individual attention.
We have outstanding outdoor and indoor sport facilities including gymnasiums, a football pitch and tennis courts at both campuses, with a swimming pool and dance studio in Shunyi. Our sports teams compete locally, nationally and indeed internationally. In addition to our sporting facilities we have 3 theatres, a number of dedicated music rooms, computer music suites, a recording studio, ICT suites, science laboratories and art studios plus numerous private practice rooms.

At BSB respect, good manners and personal responsibility are highly valued and these elements are reinforced daily through the culture of the school which places a premium on social graces and considerate behavior. We also believe it is extremely important to have excellent communication with our parents to foster both student achievement and close collaboration between home and school.
