Description
The Lagos Preparatory school was established in Ikoyi In May 2002 by Nigerian and Expatriate Parents, in order to fill a gap in high quality nursery and primary education, and therefore to serve the needs of children In the local and expatriate communities in the area. The motto of the school Is” Non Sibi Sed Omnibus”, Latin for not for oneself but for all.The motto recognizes the selfless motivation with which a diverse group of people came together In order to build an outstanding and unique educational establishment. We encourage our pupils to strive towards high standards of academic attainment and todevelop the skills needed to become articulate, responsible and caring adults. They benefit from education in an international setting and from the high quality of teaching provided by our hard working and dedicated staff. In 2008 the school was designated a member of the prestigious organisation, the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools). In the Lent term 2010, we became the first international school in the world to achieve the Every Child Matters (ECM) Award. In Lent 2011 LPS became the first British school in Africa to meet the DfE's new standards for British Schools Overseas following a full ISI inspection. The school remains the only school in Africa in both IAPS and COBIS.
