Description

In September 2003, Chartwell was transformed from a private company to a non-profit association, an institution owned and run by the parents. Although steadily expanding, Chartwell is determined to remain a small family orientated school that has close links with its parents.

The school is located at Teodora Drajzera 38, in a quiet part of Dedinje and has pleasant grounds for the children to play in. It is within easy reach of the city centre.

Chartwell broadly follows the National Curriculum of the United Kingdom but with an International approach, which is based on a problem-solving, enquiry-based and cross-curricular philosophy. The school teaches children to learn and adapt to whatever situations they will face in life, rather than simply swallow facts.

Small classes allow individually tailored teaching. The teacher can adapt the curriculum’s contents to the abilities of each child so that the student always faces a motivating and challenging programme
Currently there are:
· Nursery (2 - 3 years)

· Foundation (3 – 5 years)

· Primary (Key Stages 2 & 3)

· Secondary (Key Stages 3 & 4)

· A summer programme

· An after school and Saturday Culture School.

Chartwell teachers come from a variety of international backgrounds but each has a love of teaching, and empathy with his/her students and a commitment to good education. All are qualified for the role that they play and English is either their first language or, very good, second language.
