Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for Schools highlighted the importance of consistent quality assurance of British schools overseas at this weeks IPSEF conference in London. In his speech Nick Gibb, MP outlined Government recognition of the positive contribution and value which British schools overseas make to the well being and academic success of students worldwide.
The Minister of State for Schools outlined the Government's voluntary inspection scheme and the intention of the scheme to inform parents of pupils in British schools overseas how standards British overseas schools measure up against the standards that apply to independent schools in Britain. Inspectorates authorised by the Department and quality assured by Ofsted will be accredited to inspect British schools overseas and produce inspection reports which will be made available to parents and prospective parents of British schools overseas.
