The Department for Education (DfE) recognises COBIS support for the new Inspection scheme for British schools overseas.The strategic support COBIS offers to quality British International schools worldwide has been recognised by the DfE and published on their website. COBIS has worked closely with associated bodies to develop the new DfE International Inspection scheme for British schools overseas.

The new scheme is designed to illustrate how the standards in British overseas schools measure up against the standards that apply to independent schools in Britain. Inspectorates approved by the Department and monitored by Ofsted are authorised to inspect British schools overseas and produce inspection reports, which will published on the DfE website.

The following organisations have been approved to inspect British schools overseas:

• Penta International

Approved pending notification of inspection schedule:

• CfBT Education Trust

• G2G Education Ltd

• Cambridge Education

• Tribal Education Ltd
