The COBIS Global Social Leaders Catalyst is a unique leadership programme which brings together young people from across the world to develop leadership skills and nurture confidence. More than just a residential programme however, the ultimate goal of the programme is to empower and equip students to lead successful projects when they return to school and be a catalyst for social change.

COBIS is delighted to partner with Future Foundations to offer all of our schools the opportunity to participate in this transformational leadership experience. Expert British facilitators from Future Foundations and the Wellington Leadership Institute will be visiting China to deliver the programme.

The COBIS GSL Catalyst will take place in Shanghai, an exciting and vibrant city with an energy of its own that will inspire participants to aim high. The programme features a cultural excursion in collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University to some of Shanghai's most famous and awe-inspiring sights, as well as the opportunity to experience traditional Chinese arts such as calligraphy and martial arts. China is an increasingly powerful player on the global stage and the opportunity to understand the culture and develop your own leadership skills in this inspiring and exciting environment is once in a lifetime!

Location: Wellington College International Shanghai

Accommodation: Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao

We are excited to share our accommodation partner is the Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao. Due to their support of this programme, they are pleased to be able to offer our participants heavily discounted accommodation rates.

This hotel is strategically located at the center of Pudong, and is located close to the international airport and to Wellington College International Shanghai.

Dates: 19 - 21 December 2017, with optional cultural excursion delivered by Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 17-18 December 2017

Saturday 16 December – International Arrivals

Sunday 17 and Monday 18 December – Cultural Excursion

Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 December – GSL Catalyst Course

Participant Price:

Accommodation costs are not included in the participation fee, however we have negotiated reduced rate accommodation at a nearby hotel. Please allow £60 per night per student (for a superior twin room) and £100 for a private superior king room (single supplement). This includes breakfast, dinner and an allowance for private transfers from the hotel to our excursion and course.

Participants will be responsible for booking and arranging their flights/transport to Shanghai and for applying and paying for a visa. COBIS can provide a visa invitation letter.

If you are a local student living in Shanghai and wishing not to participate in our excursion, the price will be reduced by £200. Please select this option when booking.

Teacher Price:

*If booking 5 participant places or more, one teacher will attend for free

*If booking 10 participant places or more, two teachers will attend for free

If you are a school, you can bring a group of students accompanied by staff members. Teachers benefit from reduced rates and a specific leadership programme delivered by Future Foundations and the Wellington Leadership Institute plus full access to main GSL Catalyst Course.
