Description

Mutiara International Grammar School (MIGS) is open to students of all nationalities provided that they have a sufficient command of English to access the curriculum.
MIGS offers the National Curriculum of England, suitably adapted to take advantage of its location, in all of its stages. Key external assessments are conducted at the age of 11 (Key Stage 2) and at all ages by the University of Durham CEM online baseline testing system. Key Stage 4 culminates in the IGCSE examinations conducted by the University of Cambridge and EdExcel.
Besides normal class work, each student is expected to complete a variety of homework assignments but these are timed to ensure that neither student nor parent is overburdened.
An all-round education does not solely depend on academic achievement and therefore a programme to encompass the development of the whole person is in place. The well-being and physical health of the student is ensured by a full sporting programme which is monitored by qualified staff. Participation in the sporting programme as even the most gifted academically students can find release in physical exercise.
No school can achieve results in isolation and it is the school’s belief that only in partnership between parents, teachers and students can the high standard expected of students be attained.
At Mutiara International Grammar School children are taught to appreciate, love and care for the environment. Regular eco-based trips are arranged to various places of interest to inculcate a healthy respect for the environment and nature in general.
Although a small school, MIGS is an ambitious one and through the regular upgrading of facilities and review of activities and the curriculum MIGS constantly strives to improve and enhance its programme. Recent investments in Smart Boards and LCD Projectors in classrooms are part of this programme of continuous improvement.
